Inspired by midcentury modern design, the pierced collection is wheel thrown and hand pierced. Small holes are created when the clay is still wet and then each hole is painstakingly enlarged and smoothed when the clay is bone dry. The starburst pattern is created with a crystalline glaze that ranges from green to blue to grey. glaze. A long, controlled, slow cooling process in the kiln allows for the creation of small crystal formations where the glaze is thicker. The interplay of light and shadow, color and form complements any urban, contemporary or transitional space.
