The work of Lynne Meade is an interior designers treasure trove of dreams! It’s just so amazingly clean, and precise, and sleek, and modern, and simplified, and everything I want in a display piece - all with a touch of the 50’s /60’s styling… Yep. Nothin better. Her quote says it all,
"IT IS MY GREATEST PLEASURE TO MAKE WORKS THAT BRING BEAUTY INTO PEOPLE'S LIVES AND ENHANCE THEIR EVERYDAY RITUALS AND EXPERIENCES."
is soooo spot on.

About Lynne Meade
All of my ceramics are wheel thrown and hand cut. Everything is done by eye, without molds or templates. Blending Midcentury Modern, art deco and art nouveau influences, my aim is for originality, master craftsmanship and sculptural quality. This explores the play of light and shadow, transparency and inner space. The interplay of positive and negative space is fascinating to me. My work pushes the boundaries of function vs. art. How little clay can express a vision? What is the perfect balance of delicacy and strength? Will the design stand the test of time? These are the elements that inspire me.
Meade has been exhibiting her sculpture and design work since 1987. She studied at Penland School Of Crafts and graduated with a BA in Ceramic Design from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 1986. She has taught classes at MIT, The New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Walnut Creek Center for Community Arts, ASUC at UC Berkeley, and workshops around the country. In 2009, Meade received the Carol Duke Artist Award for Excellence In Craft at the Bellevue Arts Museum. She has permanent collections at American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California and at Benedict University in Chicago, Illinois.
