What Remains

Juried Exhibition
August 4 - September 12, 2021

What Remains is an exhibition of the California Association of Clay and Glass Artists demonstrating the intense depth and process of the medium, a narrative of what has been left behind or destroyed, or a response to the climate crisis and cultural changes. With over 40 original works of art, exhibitors present utilitarian, sculptural, narrative, environmental, figurative, and installation pieces. Some pieces are process focused to reveal “what remains” when the labor-intensive, vigorous clay and glass techniques are completed.

Some artists also interpreted this theme as more narrative, such as objects, individuals, or groups that have been left behind, destroyed, or removed. Several objects depict a relation to the climate crisis since it is during the anniversary of many devastating California wildfires. These 19 exhibitors range from emerging and established artists throughout California all working within common themes. Juried by Ann Hazels, Director, Radius Gallery.
